Breakfast Pastry

Best and most delicious easy breakfast pastries you can make with any stuffing you desire! It’s great served as breakfast with tea or a perfect snack for any time of the day. This is an easy recipe for vegans too, all you need to replace is the yoghurt and egg with almond milk.

1 cup:200ml

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of sunflower oil
  • 1 egg (yolk of one for brushing)
  • 2 tablespoons plain yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cups of flour
  • Cheddar, mozzarella, feta cheese for the inside
  • Sunflower and Nigella seeds

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients except the egg yolk in a large bowl

Knead until you get a soft dough that does not stick to the hands

Take small egg-sized pieces, flatten in your hand, fill with cheese filling, fold and stick together

Place the pastry into an oiled baking pan

Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sunflower or Nigella seeds

Bake in a preheated oven at about 175 C till golden colour.

For the vegan recipe, you can replace the yoghurt and egg yolk with almond milk
