Beach Life

I fell in love with pretty much everything. The beach, stunning turquoise water, the friendly people, amazing food, music and unforgettable Caribbean cocktails…

Life on the beach

I guess there are many places in this world that you can say they are great places to live, till you come to Cabarete!

Cabarete is a laidback and relaxed town on the Northern coast of the Dominican Republic. In this town, the action starts in the afternoon when the wind picks up and the beach comes alive with kites. You can take a long walk on the beach, forget about the time just watching the kites.

If you would like to explore the area, Cabarete is the perfect spot to base yourself. If you would like to have the whole day to relax, the graceful curve of Cabarete Bay will offer you the peace and happiness you have been looking for, or if you want to go for surfing, you are in the right place. This place is a centre for water sports.

Life is great here!   Cabarete makes everything better! Take a walk on the beach that goes as long as 7 km. Let yourself get lost in time and swim for me, play with the waves.

When the sun goes down, you can hear the music in the air! Restaurants and bars will invite you in to spend the night in their magical places to enjoy and taste of colourful food with Caribbean spices. If you like your steak, just make sure you visit Alis Restaurant at Alis surf camp, about 12 min walking distance to the town centre.

The perfect way to spend the night is to let yourself be a part of the culture, dance and have a couple or more Pina Coladas or Chinola mojitos to enjoy the night, let the warm breeze take you into great nightlife.

“I came to the Dominican Republic on vacation and quickly realized that this is where I needed to be. Sun, sea and blue sky, where you can have summer all year around. In the winter season, you can see the town is busier for people where they have cold winters. Sosua is 13 km, Puerta Plata (La Union) international airport is only 16 km away. If you need to fly to Santiago, it is 69 km.

If you love seafood, make sure you visit La Casita De Papi at Cabarete Beach. My favourite is the crab cakes for starter, then perfectly cooked lobster with very special saffron and cream sauce to die for. You will fall in love with anything and everything on the menu, no question. If you like to taste the real Dominican cocktails, you can pick your favourite or try them all. I love the way they make Pina Colada!

Here it is my Pina Colada recipe

PINA COLADA

1 cup frozen pineapple

100 ml pineapple juice

55 ml coconut cream

50 ml white rum

25 ml dark rum

Wedge of pineapple for garnish

Put all your ingredients (apart from garnish) in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled tall glass and garnish as you like.

There is so much more to share about Dominican Republic. Hope to see you next time.

Stay safe and enjoy life with a cup of happiness.
