When you feel like having meatballs with the twist, this delicious traditional tray kebab recipe is a winner. In Turkey, locals cook the meat with extra tomato sauce with it. Some like to add thin slice potato or any other vegetable slices for taste and decoration.

You can cook this kebab ahead of time and can freeze the leftovers goes well as a wrap or sandwich.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 ground beef
1 large onion, finely chopped
1/2 red pointy (or bell) pepper, finely chopped
1/2 bunch of flat-leaf parsley
2 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 tomato, cut into wedges or handful cherry tomatoes
2 long Turkish green or red pointy (or 1 bell) pepper, sliced coarsely 1 red bell pepper for the meatball mix

METHOD Preheat the oven to 200C Put the onion, red peppers and parsley in a blender or kitchen robot and mince them. Put everything in a large bowl with mince beef, add the chilli and cumin, season with salt and pepper and knead well until all combined thoroughly and spices blended in.
Grease a round baking tray with a little olive oil and spread the meat mixture onto the tray. Press the meat and spread evenly and thinly on the tray, retaining the round shape. Make sure the spread, the meat will shrink when it is cooked.
Slice the meat mixture into 6 wedges before cook. Spread the slices of peppers and tomatoes over the top of the meat mixture. Drizzle olive oil and season with salt extra and freshly cracked black pepper.
Cook your kebab in a heated oven for 25 minutes.
